“ The building project was the upgrade of an existing loft dormer room built some 23 years ago. The work included a new en-suite bathroom, the upgrade of timber structure, wall and roof insulation, re-roof in GRP, renewal of windows and cladding of exterior walls in lead sheet, bringing the roof dormer in a contemporary modern, yet very sympathetic to the Victorian architecture of the house.

Ashley carried out the works in a very competent manner, working from concept drawings drawn up by an architect. He gave very good suggestions along the way to improve on the designs and Ashley gave a “can-do” attitude to the challenges that a complex project like this presented.

The works were covered up daily to protect from rain ingress, and the rubbish and debris cleared away at the end of each shift. Inevitably, I asked for some variations, and these were carried out without any fuss and at very reasonable pricing, which were advised upfront, so no nasty surprises at the final account settlement.
